The Take a Cougar to Lunch program provides an opportunity for professionals to mentor students. Getting involved is quick and easy - just fill out the appropriate link detailing your interests and abilities.

The Take a Cougar to Lunch program provides students with a chance to gain valuable career advice from professionals practicing in their fields. Don’t put off making critical career choices. Get advice from professionals who want to help you prepare to “go forth to serve.” Here’s how the program works:

1) Once your registration has been approved, you can review a list of registered professionals and select a mentor based on relevant career information.

2) It is your responsibility to contact the mentor by e-mail or phone to determine whether he/she is a good fit for your career needs. If so, set up a time and place for lunch.

3) Lunch encounters must take place in a public restaurant setting.

4) Mixed-gender matches are permitted at any restaurant on campus during daylight hours.

5) Mixed-gender mentoring is encouraged to take place in groups rather than one on one.

6) In order to assure a comfortable exchange, we ask that you and the mentor travel independently to a public setting for lunch.

7) The mentor will pay for your lunch over a one-time mentoring session.

8) Over lunch, you can ask questions, present your resume for critique, and learn the value of networking.

9) All participants are expected to be living the standards of the Church.
