Executive Director, BYU Alumni Association Board
Wendy Hudson is the current Director of Alumni Relations. Her main responsibilities include Director of the BYU Alumni Board, Chapter Relations, Replenishment Grants, and Aspen Grove.
Before coming to BYU, Wendy spent the last six years working as National Account Manager for American Crafts, one of the largest craft companies in the country. Her key client was Michaels Stores, Inc. - an account she helped grow from $4.9 million to $23 million. In addition to managing a corporate office in Dallas, she was responsible for sales, marketing, building relationship with buyers, training and product development.
Prior to that position, Wendy worked as Executive Director for an event center in Salt Lake City where she organized events, developed training materials, helped with marketing and managed daily operations. Wendy also worked for Creating Keepsakes Magazine as a guest host on QVC. She demonstrated products on live television and sold thousands of dollars of craft products nationwide. She also worked for WordPerfect Corporation as Assistant Manager of Marketing, Large Accounts.
An entrepreneur at heart, Wendy also had a successful craft and vinyl lettering business that enabled her to be at home with her children to “teach them about business and how to work.”
Wendy graduated from Brigham Young University with a BA in Communications. Her emphasis was Media Sales and Management. She likes to joke she received a master degree in “Home, Family and Teenage Boys”. She and her family have lived in Texas, Idaho, Nevada, Nebraska, Maryland, Kentucky and Utah.
Wendy married fellow BYU graduate and current ABC 4 Utah television news anchor, Don Hudson. They are the proud parents of three returned missionary boys. Her oldest son graduated from BYU in 2015. Her middle son (and daughter-in-law) will graduate from BYU in 2017 and her youngest is a freshman at UVU.
When she has free time, she loves spending time with her family, creating art, playing tennis, and hiking.
