That’s right. Plans for Homecoming 2009 are under way in anticipation of alumni and friends converging on campus for an energetic celebration built around the theme, “Reach for the Summit.”
BYU is honoring Eugene L. Roberts, the first BYU athletic director, who named his athletes his “cougars,” created a legend of Mt. Timpanogos while leading thousands of climbers up the mountainside, and founded the event we call “Homecoming.”
