Volcanology and planetary geology professors Jeffrey Keith and Jani Radebaugh will lead you in exploring Kilauea Caldera, the active crater Halemaumau, lava tubes and active lava flows, Pele and the Park Service permitting. Other sites include Mauna Kea and its unparalleled astronomical observatories, beaches and sacred sites in Kona, and dormant volcanoes and tourist destinations in Oahu, including Hanauma Bay wildlife preserve and the Polynesian Cultural Center.
