Whether you're a student exploring career paths or an alumnus looking to give back, the app helps you stay engaged with the BYU community.

How to Get Started with the BYU Connect App
The BYU Connect app makes it easy to network with students, alumni, and professionals within the BYU community. BYU Connect is accessed through the PeopleGrove app, so when downloading the app from the App Store or Google Play Store, you may need to search for PeopleGrove rather than BYU Connect.
Step 1: Open the PeopleGrove App
After downloading the app, open the PeopleGrove app on your device. You will be directed to a "Let's get Started" page.
Under the School/Organization search bar, type in BYU and select it from the list.
Step 2: Sign In or Join Through the Church Educational System Network
Once you select BYU, you will be taken to The Church Educational System Network page. From there, you will see two options:
- Sign in — for existing users
- Join the Community — for new users.
Choose the option that best applies to you.
For Existing Users
If you already have a BYU Connect account, click Sign In. You will then choose one of the following sign-in methods:
- School ID
- Continue with Email
Select your preferred sign-in method and follow the prompts to log in.
For New Users
If you are new to BYU Connect, select Join the Community.
You will be taken to a page that says "Welcome to Church Educational System (CES). From there, you can create an account using one of the following methods:
- School ID
- Continue with Email
Chose your preferred sign-up option and follow the prompts to complete your registration.
Please note that new users may need to be approved before gaining full access to the community.
Step 3: Access BYU Connect
After signing in or creating your account, open BYU Connect within the app.
On the main page, click the menu icon (the symbol with three horizontal lines). From the menu, select Schools, then choose BYU from the dropdown menu.
Once selected, you are ready to begin using the BYU Connect app.
Step 4: Turn on Notifications
To get the most out of your BYU Connect experience, turn on notifications so you can stay aware of messages and important updates.
To manage your notification settings:
- Click the menu icon (the three horizontal lines).
- Select the gear icon or Preferences button.
- Click the Notifications tab.
- Under SMS Preferences, enter your mobile phone number to receive message notifications via text.
You can also customize your notification preferences within this section to choose which updates and alerts you would like to receive.
