FAQs: Philanthropies, Alumni Chapter Donations & Sponsorships

  • Philanthropies is a department of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. It manages philanthropic contributions to the Church and its affiliated programs and institutions, including Brigham Young University (BYU).

  • You can use the unique QR code found on your Alumni Tools webpage. This QR code is specific to your chapter.

  • Only funds designated for Replenishment Grants can be donated through Philanthropies. Donations made through this channel cannot be used for operating expenses.

  • Once Philanthropies receives the donation, the funds are transferred directly to your chapter's BYU Replenishment Grant account.

  • Yes. Donors who contribute through Philanthropies will receive a receipt soon after donation and a tax letter at the end of the calendar year.

  • No. Sponsorships must be deposited into your chapter's DFCU account. Tax letters are not issued for sponsorships.

  • No, the matching program ended in 2025.
